Is December to late to be considered Spring?

Officer assignments is still kicking me back and forth between June and September. The others that graduated with me got stuck in October. I suppose there's no hurry to move them since they aren't getting paid. I would like June because Im not a big fan of cold weather, but I'll be happy with either.
