Well I know there's always a possibility of getting caught, it just turns out that happened to be the first time.

Is a '99 corolla kick ass?

I drive an '01 corolla...which makes us both pretty gay. But besides that - I've had it up that high before too. At like 5500 RPM. Once. Stupidest thing I ever did AND I didn't get caught. I'm not proud of it. I was late for a flight from New Orleans for thanksgiving break when I was a student at NAS Whiting. You hit a bug the wrong way at those speeds and you're dead. At that point, your service selection will not be any of your concern anymore.

Additionally, with that info on record, you may not have insurance that will cover you and if you do, you'll pay an arm and a leg for it. Which I did from the other 4 speeding tickets that I got when I was a student.

Trust me - from an "old" guy...slow down. Go the "common speed" at the fastest.

Unless of course you were an illegal immigrant...:D

In all seriousness, most of the guys hauled off probably were illegal. The most common offense the judge sent guys off for was driving without a license, and most of the guys could not speak more than 5 words of English. As far as I know though most localities in VA, including mine, do not check their status unles it is a more serious offense like a felony. I could be wrong though, it certainly is a big debate here in this area, since we have a lot of immigrants, illegal and legal.

because only a certain % of those who get tickets will get jets.

How do you figure that?

Because if you get pulled over for speeding, they look at how fast you were going. From what I've seen, 110 isn't quite fast enough. Now, the guys I've known who got jets had been clocked at least 120. So, next time you get a ticket you'll just have to work harder to get that much faster. That looks really good as it shows you have the motivation to go that extra step.

I, unfortunately, was only ticketed for goinig 85 in a 55, so that's why I'm a helo bubba now.
