I felt the humor section was a good place for this one . . . interesting though.

Wow, that thing is sweet!

I wonder if spec op guys could use something like that. Didn't GI Joe have something like that?

The Marines did something like this back in the 50's. I saw this at the Evergreen Museum at McMinnville, OR last year. It has a tail rotor. The pictures are a little cluttered in the background but should get the idea across.

The best is the random chick who winked at me...um, i mean who winks at you

How to coaxial rotor systems handle yaw? Is it a blade pitch differential in the two heads?

Also, if memory serves me correctly, the problem comes in autorotation. The yaw control greatly diminishes and actually works in opposite direction to normal control inputs. i.e. what would normally be 10 degrees of right yaw input now causes 2.5 degrees of left yaw. I wonder if this thing can actually auto, but I doubt it because of the small blade length.

BTW. Sign me up!

I thought that said "Hitler Rotorcycle" instead of "Hiller" I was looking at it for awhile trying to figure out why Hitler's Rotorcycle would have MARINES stenciled on the back.

That is a great museum btw, every time I go there it blows my mind how big the Spruce Goose is, there are relatively large aircraft dwarfed under the wings of that thing.

The Spruce Goose is awesome. The inside display is limited to a small space ~20' X 20'. No views of the cockpit unless you cough up big $$$... :icon_rage:(

The first time i saw an SR 71 at udvar hazy i was surprised that it was much smaller in person than it looks in all the videos. I guess there was never anything to scale it against on the tv
