He will never get the money he is hoping for off ebay. I would consider selling to a museum if I were him.

So, basically he's selling a big chunk of carbon fiber. You can sit in it, make engine noises with your mouth, or try to shove it up your butt, just not fly it. Yay. I've got enough crap in my garage.

I really don't think there's significant historical value in it, at least not enough for a museum to purchase it. From a financial standpoint, I'd bet he's better off donating it to some local aviation museum that might be willing to take it for free, and getting the tax write-off.
