Short form Physical vs. Long form, pre-commissioning

I was wondering if anyone had insight or experience with my particular situation. I am applying for an Air contract in the Marine Corps, due to certain circumstances, it will be more than 2 years from the time I took my flight physical until I am commissioned. I know that the flight physical is good for 2 years, however I also know that there is a short form flight physical as well. Can I take the short form flight physical or will I need to reatke the long form in order to renew it so that it doesnt expire before I am commissoned. Thanks for the replies.

Flight physicals are good for one year; if you go 30 days past your renewal date, (usually the month of your birthday) you need to do the long form. No big deal, just a few more tests.

Yeah, you have to have a new physical every year, usually short form. Long form for the first, and short form every year when your age doesn't end in 5 or 0, or like feddoc said about the renewal date. At least thats how I understand it.
