Ship Photo of the Day

In the news today was HMS Raissonable, a 64 gun 3rd rate ship of the line. On Christmas Eve 1776 off the coast of Portugal, she captured the 18 gun American privateer Dalton (they thought it would be bigger - movie reference…) . Recently found among the Captain’s papers was just another document - in this case, a copy of the Declaration of Independence that was being brought to Europe.

I remember the excitement and enthusiasm for the Bicentennial back in 1976. For example. the Bicentennial star that was everywhere including at Cape Canaveral.
