Wow, I never knew about this guy. What an amazing man he must have been. God bless, RIP.
 
It's stories of unbelievable human beings like this that keeps the thin fibers of hope that I still have left in humanity. RIP

Thanks for the post. I’d never heard of this fellow, and what a set of “balls!” This guy, well, what can you say? Seems as though he’d lived the rest of his life in the same way, “Full speed ahead.” What a guy… This fellow was from a different time. Sadly, times have changed. I can’t even find a kid to mow my lawn, much less lie about his age to join the service and go to war.

We lose about a thousand WW2 vets a day in our country. I'm glad that I've gotten the chance to sit down and talk to a few in my life.
 
After reading about him, is there any doubt left why these guys were dubbed "America's Greatest Generation"? It would have been cool to have him at a TBS mess night, oh the stories he could probably tell!
