"Watch stinks!!!"

Hey Nate, I'm trying to get into CU around Fall '05 for an Aerospace E major. Yeah I know... '05??? You're tellin me. That's how it works for us STA-21 Active Duty guys. Anyways, just got finished with my first "full load semester" actually getting off some of those first year courses, CALC I/CHEM/C++

(That C++ class was murder!!!).

But!!! I maintained my 4.0 GPA, its a CC but I'm happy. Oh, and on top of full school I was working nights instructing an HF system(Blah), that's of course all in between wife and 2 kids. AND, this is the best part, I finished my MTS designation the same week as finals!

What a relief, hopefully that locks up my EP (Early Promote) for evals in March. I'm just trying to get into this STA-21 program like crazy.

You guys are not gonna believe this one though. Around 1 month before the end of the semester I called my father and said I know what I want for my (December) b-day. "Oh, here it comes..." he said. I said all I wanted was to go up flying with him to remind myself why I'm working my butt off. He (A CFI, Certified Flight Instructor, as a hobby) tells me, "Oh! Sure we can do that. Catalina or something." So anyways, I see him yesturday for golfing at Admiral Baker. We're through the front 9 and he says he wants to go to the airport??? Okay, Now? "Yes." Off we go.

Long story short he ends up paying for enrollment/flights/study materials for my Private Pilot License!!!

You're telling me. So now I'm scheduling flights with SDFTI trying to get up to solo so I can fly up to him and get the pre-req hours before FAA written. Okay, weird. But, SWEET!

This is nuts! So, yes I'm on cloud nine now, just don't clear any landing area cuz I'm not coming down for a while. Take care everyone and good luck.

I am in a dual enrollment program in which I go full time to college only and take classes that count for high school and college. I complete my asscociates and last two years of high school at the same time.

I totaly screwed up in the fall semester and was going to be kicked out of the dual-enrollment program, but I talked to the counsler and he gave me the choice to say if I wanted to stay or leave. So I decided to stay and work really hard this semester to bring my GPA back up.(BTW this is the last semester or well maybe one summer term but thats it.)So I am glad he gave me a chance to make it up.

Of least I already got accepted into Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University as an Aeronautical Science major(Pilot) before last semester was over.

Also never taking chemistry again unless I need it.

I'm another non-tech major (Digital Media, Drexel U.), just started the new term. I pulled a 4.0 last term (3.46 cumulative) and hopefully I will again, if the demons of Digital Compositing don't get to me first. I just finished a year-and-a-half long internship at a web company so this term I get to enjoy the bliss of work study (easy money) until co-op starts up.

It is nice to see other non-technical majors here interested in naval aviation. According to my recruiter, a female journalism major from my university got picked up as SNA a year or so ago, so there is hope for us after all!

By the way, I used some of my textbook money to pick up a copy of "Carrier" by Tom Clancy. I'll have a 5-8 page report for you guys on it... as soon as I finish it :-D

Hey I have that book! But I haven't read it yet. Kinda don't have time to while in school because any reading I do has to come from textbooks. (Rar) But this is my last semester so I'm excited. That's great you got a 4.0 last semester, I don't think I could ever do that. I'm non-tech too but I fought for a 3.1 last semester. It's hard 'cause I work so much and I have sports stuff going on and I just have NO time! It's flusterating... anyway, good luck this semester everyone!

Hey sorry I am a little late here, I finished my semester at U of Illinois on Dec 17, by picking up my CFI. Jumped on a plane to Baltimore, and had surgery on my shoulder all in 24 hours. Things have been a little busy, and despite attending 30-40% of my classes (sleep is very important, and I don't really even party) still walked away with a respectable 3.56 (cum 3.38) So what aviation is not technical. When class is at 3000 feet, does it get any better? Only when the Navy is paying out their ass for it.
