Hi everyone. I am new to the site and was wondering what determines the platform you fly in. I want jets. I searched but nothing came up. Please dont flame me for being curious about my career. Thanks:icon_smil

Your Grades
 
Your grades in Primary flight training (NSS), the needs of the Navy at the time of your selection, and LASTLY your own "Dream Sheet" determine your selection.
 
For each individual flight your instructor grades you on each maneuver. The grades are on a 1-5 scale, and you have to meet the minimum grade for that maneuver by the end of each "block" of flights. Then those grades are factored into some black magic formula and compared with other studs' grades, and you get an NSS.
