Selected for SNA, but No OCS Date

Hey all, I got selected for the May board & didn’t receive an OCS date.

I was notified May 20th & went in to sign & accept that selection letter the same day (not final select letter, the preliminary one). My recruiter has been on top of things & we have great communication, but he says that he hasn’t received an actual ship out date for me yet.

Just wondering if it’s normal? anyone else is experiencing this? Is it because flight school is all backed up?

I’m trying to be patient but it’s been 7weeks with nothing so far. In the meantime I’ve been proactive w/PT & swimming/water confidence training. Just trying to get my mind & body right for when I get the call 🤷🏻‍♂️

Any help would be appreciated! & yes I did use the search bar. 😅

I went to OCS a few years ago but there were a few weeks between being notified that I was selected for OCS and receiving a class date. Most aviation selects attend OCS classes in the beginning of the fiscal year to offset the glut of Academt/ROTC Ensigns arriving in Pensacola in the summer.

My recruiter gave me the option to sign a letter to attend OCS as soon as possible if someone with a class date couldn't attend that class. If you have that option, make sure you stay in good physical shape and know that you could be headed to Newport with only a few days notice.

Yes, this does happen. Sounds like you have a good recruiter so I defer to them for providing guidance / mentorship during the next stages of the process.

Not really. NROTC and USNA SNA and SNFO types stagger when they report to Pensacola. They all don't just report in May-June.
