BB's, pellets, paint balls, i.e. toys... here they are firearms.
Even had to get rid of a 1954 22LR and a 1964 single shot 12 gauge.
No serial numbers, so in NJ... these are "ghost guns."
I love NJ, but I hate our liberal political anti-American BS laws.

for simplicity (no batteries, no biometic) this one is pretty simple and rugged. easy to access in the dark by feel. mechanical combo. two for one sale $169

not super high end, but seems rugged enough and works well with fingerprint/combo/key and has a cable lanyard. pretty quick access with fingerprint
i'm sure there are much better ones out there but I was just looking for something to keep the gun out of curious hands and keep it relatively accessible.

V-line makes a bunch of good products if you're looking for something that is secure, can be bolted to a wall or piece of furniture, and doesn't need batteries.
For a battery/biometric solution, I've had a good experience with Vaultek. Batteries last a long time, and alert you to low voltage for recharging via USB (or AA for entry-level versions). Their LifePod is TSA approved if you want to fly with your pistol.

Stop box is exactly what I'm looking for, thanks. I almost went to checkout with one of those cringeworthy flag/punisher/cosplay designs but caught it just in time and went with black.
I just bought a Sanctuary 2 cu ft fire safe from Home Depot. Not really a "gun safe" in the use I bought it for, but it is DOJ approved for that purpose. I got it to store important documents and other valuables, but also as a home for the S&W handgun to keep it safe from the kids. Also certified to 1800 deg for 90 mins and 9 inches of standing water for some amount of days. My priorities were more survival in a house fire, then security. You can get one with a biometric reader, but I just got the keypad combo type.
Hello All, I've decided it's high time I get my own handgun instead of relying on friends for range time. I know I want to buy a Ruger Mark IV (most fun I've had with a .22lr pistol), and I've been looking into a 9mm as well. Currently thinking Glock 19, but does anyone have any other recommendations? Not looking to spend a fortune, but also not looking for the cheapest thing on the market either.

For a first centerfire pistol, I'd consider concealed carry ability, even if you don't plan to carry now. In that vein, the Sig P365 is pretty good value. Comped and non-comped options, plenty of holsters on the market, and they're usually easy to find as rental guns so you can try one. There are similar-ish offerings from CZ, S&W, and Canik, along with other manufacturers if you don't like the Sig. Most come pre-cut for an optic you can add later- pay attention to footprint, it will matter.
No matter what, try before you buy, and get something YOU like that YOU shoot well, not necessarily what some former snake-eater Youtube star or your local range Fudd (e.g. me) recommends.
Save the 1911/2011s for later- they are awesome, but you'll spend a fortune.
Your Mark IV will scratch the "fun at the range" itch pretty well, and there are lots of aftermarket upgrades you can get later (I recommend an upgraded trigger for a start).

Lots of inexpensive solid LEO trade-ins on the market. G19 is the most universal handgun you can find. S&W M&P is excellent. Nearly everyone is producing high quality striker fired guns now.
Think in terms of buying a system. Holster, mags, accessories, whether you want a reflex optic or not, etc. So many great options.
Find something you think is cool, build a system around it and train/practice.
