what woul dhappen if you were able to get accepted for the scholarship but didnt make it into a school choice?

what do you think? You can't do NROTC if you aren't in college, so obviously you need to get into a school. Like everyone else said, you need to go to your second, or third, or other choice if you don't get your first. Or you can hang out, wait to get into another school and then try again....

what are the credentials to win an nrotc scholarship??

As said earlier, check out the sticky regarding the admissions board. From there you can find out what to do to earn a scholarship.

If you have a spouse..make sure she's happy on what school you're picking too...lol I'm from Texas...*I ENJOY THE HEAT!* and well, sticking me in the freezing hell-lands of Madison Wisconsin wasn't the smartest choice for my husband...to say the least! :icon_rage
