Scary stuff

It's funny, the article mentions Aberdeen SD, it's about 45min Northwest of where I'm at by way of 182.

Sorry, it's not very often that SD is in the news..

Your title says it best. SCARY STUFF! I don't think I've ever heard such a comprehensive coverage of a hypoxia case. Amazing that it turned out as it did. Thanks for posting HAL.

HOLY COW....I thought someone had a few too many. Great find HAL. THX.

I learned about hypoxia in ground school for my PPL, it's a little more dramatic to hear it like this, should make a great safety recording...

Crazy. A guy from my old karate school is a controller there. Glad they got down ok.

That is definitely some scary stuff, especially having heard several stories of guys having the AP on and the plane just kept on going. Great to see that the ATC's understood what was going on and were able to effectively help the pilot out.

That is an amazing example of what hypoxia can do to a pilot, I'm going to make my students listen to that audio. Thanks for sharing it with us!

"Unable to control altitude..Unable to control airspeed..Unable to control heading..."

Guess you're hosed, buddy! Good thing the controller figured it out.
