Saturday RNLT date?

I have read here and a plethora of other places, that you should not show up before Sunday. My acceptance letter has a Sunday date but my orders say RNLT Saturday.

Should I show up Saturday expecting to get sent away, and therefore have a hotel reservation, or just show up Sunday?

It seems so odd to me to have the dates not match up.

I can only tell you what happened to me in P'Cola...Not sure if it is the same up in RI...I had a RNLT of Friday 23June06...I showed up, walked into the Regiment building and was told to come back Sunday AM about 1100...I was lucky that I was Enlisted at the time so I booked a quick room at the BEQ...I would suggest having a reservation for Fri/Sat night and be prepared to start Sat...I will give you the ONLY useful OCS gouge I have ever given...show up as late on Sunday (if you don't start saturday) as you can...no need to be there at 0800 and get an extra 3-4 hours of crap you don't need...get a good heavy breakfast/lunch in..show up full, hydrated, and motivated...and have fun...

appreciate it!

I really did not want to drive there a day early if I did not need to but I guess if the orders say it, then I have to.

Thanks for the advice!

The "show up late on Sunday" gouge is outdated. Sometime between my class showing up en-masse at about 1030-1100ish and us graduating, they started changing orders to say to show up by 0800 on Sunday.

And yea, you're probably going to try to check in and be told to come back the next morning. But like you said...if the orders say Sat, show up on Sat.

You want to have a pissed off Candio class running indoc? Show up at 11. You throw off the whole schedule for the first day and miss a lot of the things you're supposed to be learning on Day 1. I suggest arriving at 8 or 9.

Mine said show up NLT 1600 on Sunday..... I rolled up at 1530 with a couple other Ensigns... We were given about 5 minutes of grief because we were "being irresponsible by doing things at the last minute" by the candios... We finally got into the squad bay, to see a bunch of sweaty, sad looking folks that had been going since 0800 earlier that day. We were bright eyed and bushy tailed.... Funny stuff.

I'd show up as late as your orders allow you to, but it's your call :D

Fuck the Candio's...they are all pissed off because they are actually working while the other half of their class is asleep or out drinking...

Oh noes, anything but an angry candi-o. What are they gonna do, call you names?
