San Diego Neighborhoods

Hello One and All,

Looking into relocating to San Diego next fall, and I am hoping to do a little previewing of neighborhoods this spring.

This will not be a PCS or any "paid" move. Hoping to find a neighborhood that is safe, close to one or more of the smaller airports, and has good transit access.

Oh, and the cheaper the better while meeting the safe/transit critera, would be great. Obviously, San Diego and etc, but hoping some of you out there might be able to point me in a good direction.

Roomate option is possible, however, it will be the boyfriend and I so would need to be a bigger place.

There are a couple good threads on here about where to live in SD if you wanna search though those and come on back with more questions. San Diego isn't cheap, I suspect you know that though. What's your budget for housing?
