If I get furloughed, I'm on my own time and- short of anything illegal- what I do with that time is my business, thank you very much. I take exception to the assertion that they can prevent you from earning money to support yourself and any dependents.

Now if you're paying me to stay home, that discussion might proceed differently.

Don't give him that much credit.

His tone and delivery sounded like he was on a Fox News ragetanement show at 2am, including the repetitive talking points.

There was some meat in there, but it could've been a 20 minute well prepared speech.

Last time the fed employees received back pay for the days they were furloughed.
 
In the picture of all the generals/admirals seated during the speech, I am very curious what the cartoon thought bubbles emanating from their heads would be saying:)
 
I feel bad for Pappy. He came from Hawaii to give a talk in Norfolk Monday night that didn’t end until 2030 and then was up in Quantico bright and early for this.
