Retake or not to Retake that is the question!

Took the ASTB yesterday...scoring 7/8/9 49...First I'd like to say thanks to everyone, this sight helped alot in preparing for the test.

Second, I'm not sure if I should retake test or not...If I'm just going for SNA...Should I retake or are these scores good enough??? What do you guys think??? I've heard of people getting lower scores...are the different versions that much harder?

Any thoughts or ideas, would be appreciated!!!

(Keep in mind that I'm approaching 27 yrs old in summer 08, so I might only have a chance at one board...Speaking of which, Does anyone know how often the Selection Boards meet? just curious)

Thanks again!!

Your scores are pretty good. The only thing that looks iffy is the OAR (49) which I'm not sure how you got the low of an OAR with the other scores you got. The whole scoring algorithm is pretty whack if you ask me.

IMO, I'd apply with what you got. Boards generally meet once a month so you should have time to meet multiple boards even if you have to retake later.

That's a very unusual score. 49 is an average OAR, but 7/8/9 is great. I'd only retake if you're sure you can improve that OAR, but it would be a shame if you lost that 9. As long as the rest of your application is solid, I'd go ahead and submit. If you don't make it, then you can retake to try to improve your score.

Apparently CNRC has "efficiencitized" themselves... not sure exactly what this means but considering they were holding a pilot board once a month before (generally around the 15th), I'm assuming it'll be the same, although probably more consistent. Anyone more knowledgeable than me concur???
