I was wondering what happens if you don't get in on your first try. I mean, I'm studying for the exam now and I have a sitting US Senator (I worked on defense/foreign relations issues for the guy) and a former Congressman willing to write me a recommendation.

So if I don't get in on the first try, do I get them to write me new references or do I go with some other folks?

By the manual before you can reapply you must wait six months unless there is a significant change. the definition of significant by CNRC at this point is but not limited to........new transcripts, new test scores that are higher, and some times New or Additional Interviews or LORS.
so if you have to reapply you can use your same LORS as the first time.

I'm just now starting the application process and I'm a little confused about this question. When applying for say the October board, if I'm not selected I can't reapply for any other boards until April? But say if I hold back one or two LOR's, then I could resubmit for the next board and just add those in?

NO that is not what was said a LOR is not a significant change I said by the manual / instruction. now if you applied for INTEL supply and SWO in october you can apply for PILOT NFO IW in NOVEMBER because this is not a reconsideration for the designators you were turned down for.

SO to be clear if you want to reapply for the same designators again BY THE BOOK you must wait 6 months unless there is significant change of which i all ready explained. New LOR is not significant in most cases but and Interview may be

Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it. I guess I should just get in on the first try and not worry about it. Hah, ha. Easier said than done, right?
