Request Corpus?

Depends on the needs of the Navy and how the flight management office is giving out slots the week you get yours. When you first checkin you have a request/dream sheet for which training wing you'd like to go to. Trawing 4 is Corpus.
 
The trend used to be that mostly single guys/girls would get sent down here to Corpus while all the married kids went to Whiting, but yea, like Zippy said, that situation has changed due to the needs of the Navy. Don't be surprised if you end up in Moody or Vance either.
 
You've got a pretty good chance of going to Corpus. The Navy is not going to send anymore studs to Moody, but I'm not sure when they're going to start. So many people in my class wanted to go to Whiting that the 6 of us that wanted Corpus got it easily. Good luck.

Uh can't say the date for sure, but I was told that they're not going to send anymore Navy dudes to the AF bases for primary, starting with Moody. Being that I'm in advanced and not API, my info may not be the best.
 
I heard that they stopped sending people to Moody just for the rest of the fiscal year. But then again ... I also heard that the Navy was going to force the excess Navy fly boys to switch over to the Army (ha).
 
I just rolled through API about a month ago. Basically, on check in day were given a spot on our check in sheet to list our preferences for our training wing assignment (i.e. Vance, Corpus, Whiting, Moody wasn't an option). LT Hammer and Mr. Nichols were really good about taking those requests and classing people up in accordance with their preferences and availability, I think everyone got what they wanted so you should be in good shape.
 
Sorry to threadjack but I've got some questions ab this...

We're married & my husband is in IFS now (Chesapeake, VA).

Will API be a TAD weight allowance move?
Will his API orders have follow on orders for Primary or no?
Do you know of any married people who requested & got Corpus?
Where's Vance?

I'll have more questions based upon the answers I get! Thanks!
 
The last guys were sent to Moody in July, so now you can only pick corpus, whiting, or vance.....once vance started getting the T-6 there was no reason left to send anyone to Moody.
 
Oh but cost of living is cheap there and according to the API StuCon LT (is he even still there?), Oklahoma folks are the nicest people in the world.
