Don't know the story behind that, but the plane shown is an F-14.

Whether the explosion was caused by the jet or not, I don't know.

With the retirement of the Intruder, the Tomcat became the premier strike fighter in the Navy. They were held back but not getting the newest weapons as quickly as the Hornets but the LANTIRN pod was much better than the Hornet's pod. For dumb bombs, LGBs or JDAMs, the Tomcat could haul a bigger load and further than the F/A-18C.

Ha, I saw that as well, and in other relating articles they mention the aircraft as an F-15, but then again like you said, the video showed an F-14 but that doesnt mean that it dropped the bomb.
