Remembering Pearl Harbor

Really an amazing generation. My grandmother helped train pilots during the war. Sadly she passed away before I ever got to ask her about it. I've always been proud to have that legacy in my family, and I hope to live up to her achievements some day.

I know this generation hasn't shown the same sacrifices that the greatest generation did, and it honestly would be hard to measure up to them. But I don't doubt that if the US were ever caught in another full-scale industrial war (not these selective wars of the present), we would see the nation rally together a fighting force that is unbreakable. Unfortunately, I think our enemy has realized this and no-one dares to face us in an all-out industrial war.

This thread might interest you guys, it was posted up on an aviation photography website here in the UK I am a member of. A fellow member visited the Pearl Harbor memorials and other landmarks in the surrounding area, its one of the best photo journals of a visit I have seen. The photo's showing the strafe damage that have been left are quite chilling.

Enjoy .. http://forums.airshows.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=18494
