Refractive Lens Exchange

Making Recruiting Great Again
I’m not asking if it’s possible to waive the 20/40 uncorrectable vision requirement, but if it’s possible to get a waiver for an applicant who got the refractive lens exchange procedure done in place of LASIK or PRK to apply for SNA since I’m ineligible to receive either. The waiver guide says that the procedure is permanently disqualifying and applicant waivers are “typically not recommended”.

Like you said, I guess my best bet would be to talk to a NAMI doctor. I’ll see what I can do.

Fortunately for USMC, you do the NAMI physical ahead of applying, so if you only want to fly USMC aviation (and nothing else), at least you'll know ahead before you have to actually apply.

Thanks for the advice. Out of curiosity, do you think the procedure I mentioned can be waivered for pilot applicants? My recruiter said he would get back to me today with an answer, but what's your opinion?
