How's it going guys. I'm mid application to be a Naval Aviator. Packet isn't finished yet but it's getting close. Just wondering if there are any recommended readings you guys have in mind? Just to give you a picture of where I am so you could recommend readings that would help me most I'm pretty much just starting out in this field. Know just a little but not enough of any kind of flight info I'll probably need to get through flight school nor any complimenting subject such as mechanics or physics. Just basics of each. So any books on flight, aviation history or whatever I can study up on to help me out at flight school would be great.

Just in case you guys are wondering here are my stats.

College: B.S in Criminal Justice and Psychology. 3.8 GPA from Penn State
Current graduate school student for forensic psychology at John Jay University
ASTB: 6/7/6 61

I just read a book called Feet Wet by RADM Paul Gillcrist (Ret.). Basically a memoir of his career, which started in the earliest stages of naval jet aviation, through his experiences in Vietnam, serving as CO of an F-8 squadron, CAG of CVW-3, and eventually commanding TOPGUN. Awesome book.

Bogeys and Bandits is also a very good book about the author's experiences being embedded in the F-18 RAG in the early 90s and the experiences of the nuggets going through the syllabus. It gives you a very in depth view into what life in the training pipeline is like.
