I just saw a 6 ship delta with a single ship trail of what I think were Hornets flying over Arlington. It's not on the Blues schedule and nothing in the press about it. Anyone know what it was?

Alert DC will give you notification of scheduled flyovers in most cases, to include the one this weekend.

"The U.S. military will conduct an aircraft flyover in the National Capital Region (NCR) over the National Mall on Tuesday, October 28, at approximately 11:15AM to 11:30AM," according to Alert DC.

It's an annual thing with pics done over the Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore, etc. My dry cleaner has at least two of them, with the personalized part written in the same style as when I first saw them decades ago. This time it was for the 250th birthday of the Navy apparently.

Thanks Flash. I know about the annual photo shoot over the National Mall. I usually go to the Marine Corp memorial to watch it. But this one was not announced by the usual sources like WTOP. Seeing it while driving on Washington Ave in north Arlington was a little surprising. I 'll use Alert DC. to know when the the F-22s/F-35s are coming over my house after a missing man over ANC.
