The Commemorative Air Force AIRBASE Arizona museum will receive a AV-8B flown in directly to the museum at KFFZ from VMA-231, Cherry Point. Interestingly, the Marines will also provide a team to demil the plane on site and also leave a Pegasus engine for the museum's engine collection.

Facebook post: UPDATE: The Harrier is now due to arrive on June 10, probably sometime after 1200. It is coming from Cherry Point and will probably have one refueling stop. We will monitor the flight and update the arrival time as the flight progresses. The museum will be open during regular hours on the 10th so that the public can view the arrival.
The aircraft is BuNo 165576, It served with Marine Attack Squadron VMA-231 out of the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point.

When the local tour helo is blocking you from taxing out of the chocks!!! (he cranked up on a revenue flight and did a vertical takeoff to a 100' hover and departed)

I am parked about 1.5 rotor diameters away... its very congested ramp space

Before anyone makes a crack about the old school tiger stripe Airman Battle Uniform, CAP will transition to high speed/low drag OCPs after the FY. CAP being issued OCPs needs to be signed off by the Chief of Staff of the Air Force and that is happening any day now.

I don't know how old the tallest kid in this photo is, but I'm worried about his anthro measurements by the time he stops growing!

another exciting day at the local airport. Dude landed long floated halfway down the runway before touchdown.

Part 91 and no damage. Took a local landscape dump truck and some tow straps to pull it out of the soft grass and back onto the hard stand. IMG_20250626_105516.jpg

Interesting story here…

I’ve flown through plenty of exercise space and it is always a “head on a swivel” event, but I place most of the blame on civilian VFR pilots. A lot of the. just suck at comms.

Ha! Have you ever flown the Fisk arrival at Oshkosh? Talk about head-on-a-swivel!!!

Just finished flying a factory new 182. The finest 135 KTAS money can buy for North if $700k.

New car smell and a nicely designed interior. The latest Garmin avionics and AP to keep doctors and lawyers from killing themselves.

No more vacuum or steam gauge standby instruments.

Still a 182 however.
