I am a Mooninite. I'm from the moon. Some could say that Earth is our moon, but that would take away from the name of the moon... which is the moon.

There are several good food joints in TLH, Jim and Milt's, Momo's, and a few others. I personally prefer food of the GOOD and FREE variety. My favorite stops so far have been Hammond for the mufalattas (misspelled, I am sure), and Chennault for cajun. The pizza (and scenery) at Gainsville is also good.

Monroeville has a hot chick.

I heard she's gone now, anyway. I keep trying to make it back to Chenault, but haven't been able to swing it. Was going to go yesterday, but the T-45 incident put the kabash on that. Think I'll make up for it by doing the Gainesville thing on Monday...

My last two flights in intermediate were an out and in to Birmigham, AL. Good route (followed the Alabama River), and the BBQ joint that's about 5-10 minutes from the base almost gave me a food coma for the return leg.

My instructor jinxed me on my landing too... As we're starting the crosswind turn he says "This is your last landing in a T-34, don't fuck it up." I then proceeded to land MAYBE 1000 ft from the hub at North Whiting. Still made the turn, after standing on the brakes and giving full beta and right rudder... I think I was up on two wheels. My instructor's debrief remark? "It's a good thing you're going helos."

If you fly into Gainesville the GM of the airport is a retired navy CO and will usually hookup military pilots with discount cards to places out in town.

GNV = too far for an OUT/IN...unless you get up to 21K with 120kts up the ass...until you want to go home...
