My favorite out and in was to Hammond, just North of New Orleans. Girl who worked there was decent, nothing special, the food- a Muffalato sandwich, pretty much the biggest sandwich I have seen- IP and I split a small and only ate half of our respective halfs (and I'm not a small guy by any means), and on the way back, you can do the river run which is flying along the Mississippi through the middle of New Orleans then follow the coast and islands back. Great for Vnav flights and the river run is better the lower you can go.

Should've ORM'd that...

GNV = too far for an OUT/IN...unless you get up to 21K with 120kts up the ass...until you want to go home...

Not so much for the Turbo-weenie. Went there as a stud. Taken studs even farther (PIE for Coasties, NQA for Navy). 1 for a Full-Stop = easy 2.0 :icon_wink

If you fly into Gainesville the GM of the airport is a retired navy CO and will usually hookup military pilots with discount cards to places out in town.

Yes he does. He was the boss of several current and former staff members there (and alumni) that many of us on the board here know. He took care of us last night when there was a transportation problem (thanks a lot, John Travolta). And the scenery was, as usual, excellent.
