Are you allowed to wear contact lenses during TBS or do you still have to wear the ugly glasses? Also, not asking about a transfer, but what is the likely hood of getting PRK once in? How long is the waiting list?

I know on the enlisted side once you were done with boot you could were your own personal glasses as long as they were withing marine specs. Not sure about contacts though. Never wore glasses. So, I think you can???

Yes you can wear contacts at TBS, just not in the gas chamber, unless you want a "permanent" contact fused to your eyeball. A Lt in my Plt at TBS got PRK done at Bethesda a couple weeks before TBS graduation. He went from "almost blind" to 20/15 in both eyes..........something like that. He's at IOC right now, snoopin and poopin.
