At my NROTC unit, there seems to be some confusion over the type of BAH GEO Batchelors rate at TBS. Some swear that it will be at the rate where our dependents are located, some say it will be the Quantico rate. Any current GEO Batchelors at TBS care to comment on this? Thanks.

You rate BAH based on your duty station. In extreme cases (think SoCal vs Quantico), you can request your BAH be based on where your dependents reside. However, I don't think it will be approved if you VOLUNTARILY are a geo-bachelor. If you are ordered to Quantico as a PCS move, the expectation is that your family will come with you. That's the reason that you will get BAH based on your duty station.
It'll be the Quantico rate. You were authorized a PCS and a household goods move, and they expect you to use it unless you have some kind of hardship. It's case by case on what constitutes a hardship.
With all the emphasis on putting together a higher standard of living for bona fide bachelors, the guidance in the fleet nowadays is to not even allow geo-baching. TBS is a bit of a different animal because even though you are authorized HHG, you are still required to maintain government quarters. Geo-Baching is pretty much a dying option for people without extenuating circumstances.

My roommate is prior-E SNFO with a wife going to grad school in San Diego. Upon commissioning he originally got Pcola BAH, but was able to change to SD BAH even w/PCS orders here under OPNAVINST 7220.12 4.b.2 (page 6 of http://doni.daps.dla.mil/Directives/07000%20Financial%20Management%20Services/07-200%20Disbursing%20Services/7220.12.pdf)

So my wife just started TBS (The Basic School) at Quantico. Is she not eligible to receive BAH w/ dependents at dependent location since I can not move there right now? Please advise.

So i looked up the order mentioned above and according to the literature a Marine can leave their dependent and the dependent location and received BAH for that location if the Marine has orders to a PME for a period of less than 12 months...point blank period. My wife (the Marine) was worried that our rent where I (the dependent) lives is low. But I believe this should have no bearing.
