I know this subject has been hashed out, but I have a serious question that I have found no where, and I have looked extensivley.

I have an OCS date of SEP 14 02 and my designator is pilot or SNA. What happens if you don't pass the eye requirment? Can they reccommend PRK, will they let you where correctives, what's the deal? I was just wondering how it works out. Plus all this talk about not being able to switch designators, I'm just wondering if anybody has been through this or knows someone that has been through this type of scene described above. Thanks guys.

I went to OCS as an NFO, i had PRK in december and am now, after 3 months, eligible again to submit my papers for a commission. I will be switching to Pilot. I cant imagine going through 2 years of flight school and then sitting in the back seat with the same committment.
