I am settling in on a place to get Wavefront PRK done, does anyone have any experience in the best place in the area of MD / DC / VA for cost/procedure / doctor?
I’m finding the average price for this in the area is 4k with very little deviation. Although I have seen ads in other regions for like 500 per eye. Any help? Also I am going today for a consultation, any questions I should be asking the doc?
Thanks!

Hey, since I don't live in those areas I can't name a place, but I would advise having it done either by your regular eye doctor or somebody he/she strongly recommends (assuming that since you need PRK you have a regular eye doctor). It might be more expensive ( I paid 3K) but it is definately worth it since that price includes all the follow up visits plus a few unscheduled visits you might have to make. I had to go once for an unscheduled visit because my bandage contact had moved out of place and was hurting a lot. Also, anytime I had a question I could pick up the phone and my regular doctor was more than willing to help out. Not to mention you would have somebody who is familiar to you performing this surgury. Oh and on a side note, the reason that a lot of these places are cheaper than going through a doctor is because a lot of the people that are performing the surguries are only technicians licensed for the surgury and are NOT doctors. Just make sure you research any place really well. Good luck with it all and hope everything goes well.

I went to a place called LasikPlus, in Atlanta, Ga They might have one around there. I really like them. It cost me $3,600 for the "Fly by spot" Interwave. on a brand new laser. They have them around, call and see what you think.
