Also, you will not need to repeat items you where you already met PTS. So, that will make the recheck shorter/easier/less stressful.
The DE can still make you do anything in the PTS. (probably won't) So you knock out all of your landings on the failed checkride.........I guess you can just screw the pooch on the second checkride right. Staright out of the PP PTS

The examiner or applicant may discontinue the test at any time when
the failure of an AREA OF OPERATION makes the applicant ineligible
for the certificate or rating sought. The test may be continued ONLY
with the consent of the applicant. If the test is discontinued, the
applicant is entitled credit for only those AREAS OF OPERATION and
their associated TASKs satisfactorily performed. However, during the
retest, and at the discretion of the examiner, any TASK may be reevaluated,
including those previously passed.

See if you cannot drive the flight.....have a plan that makes sense for how you will accomplish all of the PTS tasks. If it is logical, and your CFI can help you with this, you will be ahead of the plane. Chair fly it also.
