People (my roommate included) still say that the 767 that hit the WTC was actually a military jet because you can see the special pod on the belly and it's gray, so it must have been an air force plane. I find it so ironic that these people who hate our way of life (democracy, free trade, free market, encouragement for entrepreneurs, etc) don't even realize that it is because our country is so great that they are allowed to put such bull s*it online. It actually makes me angry. If they are so upset with the way we run things, why not move outside our borders? Unreal. Sorry for the threadjack. Just venting a little.

My friend started talking about this today and got me curious, but has anyone here worked/flown for a private contractor like Blackwater? Just wondering what kind of missions they do, I know there's stuff from basic transport to guys in Sierra Leone flying Mi-24s. Do they usually perform their own medevacs or call in the military when they get in deep shit?

I did some searching but couldn't find much, most of the stuff on the internet about them is just media flaming on their guys on the ground.

Here is one that I hear mentioned a lot, not much info to be found on it other than here, their website radomly says it isunder construction.

True...jumped through the hoops and denied for lack of a current SSBI or what ever they call the background checks now. Their pilots are very limited without one and it is taking an average of 18 months for them to get one.
