Well, this is my first time posting so I know you may be a little hesitant to respond to my questions, but I'm a prior enlisted of the US Navy and I served 5 years as a naval aircrewman on P3C's. I have over 1200 hrs, 100+ ASW missions and quite a few medals (KOSOVO Air Campaign, a NAM, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist (EAWS), trust me I'm not braggin' Anyway, I've inquired about this BDCP program through a recruiter and it sounds like a win win situation. I've read alot of the negative feedback though from the other posts on here.

Is it really so hard to get accepted? And is it not worth it? I have a 3.4 GPA in Computer Science. I'm attending Wichita State University.

I have plans to become a naval officer and if there is another way please let me know. I'll get more detailed in future postings. Later

The only way you'll know is to apply - and if you get rejected, apply again. BDCP is competitive right now, but not impossible. Your GPA is solid, and prior service is a plus.

BDCP is definately worth it! From your grades and prior service I think you have a very good chance of making it. I was excepted back in december of 2003 so I don't know how competetive the program has become now, but you don't know if you don't apply! Good luck.
