Are there any burrow holes? Armadillos are adept diggers and will often dig their way out of harms way.

There were no burrow holes out of the pipe, it is metal for God's sake. I just talked to my neighbor Phyllis and she said she doesn;t care if my rifle accidentally goes off at 4:30 in the morning, she would rather her flowers looked pretty! My rifle is sighted, ready to lock and load.

I didnt realize it was a pipe. I didnt read carefully enough, though I still wouldnt put it past an armadillo to burrow through metal.

Make it more of a sport and try a bow and arrow.

You're either talking about a headshot at a head the size of a golf ball, or about a ton of draw to get enough energy behind it to get through the shell.

I'm a big fan of a 12 gauge slug as already mentioned. If you want it to be challenging just leave the scope off. It makes a little noise though.

where I'm from you just kinda take for granted that you'll hear gunshots at all times of the day and night. If it's not a normal hunting season you just assume that it was a snake or armadillo.

Armadillo update....I was walking my dog tonight and saw the armadillo that has been eluding me.....I was able to run inside, get my .22 and one shot put him into convulsions, the next was the coups de grace...mission accomplished!

Armadillos are nothing compared to the wily and vicious Pennsylvania fox, racoons and possums. They will lie in ambush and attack without warning when you step off your porch in the evening to answer nature 's call. I therefore keep my Springfield .45 close at hand when I'm communicating with the spirits to deal with these savage beasts.
