Post Commissioning Leave

Good Afternoon Y'all,

I always wanted to do one last big cross-country trip before I go off into the fleet and I was wondering if anyone can chime in on taking leave post-commissioning from your NROTC unit. Is it possible? If so, how much leave can you take? I want to gather as much information as possible before I make the call

Thanks,

Laam

This is going to vary on a variety of factors, including NROTC unit/command-specific policy on leave.

I wouldn’t attempt to make plans until you discuss and get a verbal nod (at least) from your NROTC staff.

Are you going to be an aviator or another designator? If you’re an aviator and you get an early June class date, or if you’re a SWO and get orders to report to your ship within weeks of graduation, then your cross country road trip dreams can get fucked.

Wasn't this already answered?

Easy answer: talk to your NROTC Staff secretaries....ask them for the New Commissioning Leave Policy. I'm certain your unit has a leave & liberty policy. The other easy answer is to speak to your class advisor. I'm sure this is a super easy one that he or she can answer off the top of their head.
