sir, i would like to know if there's an existing tradition of plebe knowledges in USNA. i hope you can give some insights on what kind of training does the 4cl cadets receive from your academy. thank you and good day.
philippines is the first republic in asia when GEn. Emilio Aguinaldo proclaim our independence last June 12, 1898. our army started from the Katipunan revolution.. officialy we traced it from regulars of the revolution.. but USA under McKinley forcibly annexed it under the Treaty of Paris even though the Spain have already been defeated by the Filipino troops and our independence have been proclaimed. that's one of the reason of thr Filipino-American War. One of the casualty of that war is Maj Gen Lawton who was killed in the Battle of San Mateo on December 23, 1899, killed by the tiradores dela muerte (riflemen of death) a unit led by Gen. Licerio Geronimo. many regulars of the Spanish Army joined the army of the infant republic as regular officer. The Philippine Military Academy began with the establishment of the Academia Militar on October 25, 1898 at Malolos, Bulacan by virtue of a decree issued by the first president of the young Philippine republic, General Emilio Aguinaldo. The Academia was a school that awarded its graduates regular commissions in the armed forces. The Academia existed up to 20 January 1899, when hostilities between the Americans and Filipinos erupted.cindy said:Philippines. Was an old US Military R&R center, long since turned back to PI Government, am sure.

She wasn't referring to the entire country but to Fort Del Pilar. Given the lengthy occupation of the Phillipines by U.S. forces (1898-1946) it may have been an R&R site before becoming the PMA in 1950. Her intent was not to insult your country but to explain where you are located, given the information in your profile. Flynhi thought you were in the U.S. Army since their bases are also referred to as forts.
Back to your original post. Do you want to know what drill knowledge plebes are required to memorize (example: General Orders, Chain of Command, Current News) or are you interested in what academic subjects they are required to take? I think if you clarified your request some of the current Academy mids and alumni would provide an answer.
For ROTC our 4/c were required to memorize General Orders for a Sentry, Chain of Command, Leadership Traits, Uniform Standards, and basic information on the Navy's warfare communities (Aviation, Surface, Subsurface, Special Warfare). The academic curriculum included military etiquette and the organization of the Navy and Department of Defense in the first semester and the history of the United States Navy in the second semester.
