PLC after reserves

Depending on MOS and your school schedule it should delay you for 9 months to a year. Not too bad...

Unless of course you get deployed. No chance of that though

Being top 5 at OCS will get you...well...a nice certificate, maybe. Other than that, not much. It's a pass/fail evolution. Your reputation coming out might be the most valuable thing, but just finishing respectably will serve just as well.

Plenty of guys do the reserves. It's not a bad thing and can be good experience. Really the only "experience" gained there is Boot Camp--guys with 2-4 years reserve time really aren't considered "mustangs."

Also consider the possibility of being deployed in the reserves. Could be a good thing, but 7mo+ gone WILL delay that degree big time.

Being deployed these days is extremely likely... as DocT alluded to ^^. You're gonna get deployed... count on it.
