Does anyone have any pictures of what the officer's state rooms look like for junior officers?

These are two crappy pics I snapped aboard the Lincoln. It was a 4 man stateroom. 2 racks on each wall in the sleeping area.

That's a pretty sweet room for a JO. Most of the time you get crammed into an 8-man, or even better, a six-man that has two extra racks crammed in. But you at least get a rack, desk, and lockers. And if you're extra-lucky, it'll be right under one of the cats or the DLA and you'll have the Sound of Freedom to lull you to sleep.

On the big-deck amphibs, most capts/lts will get 4-mans. There were only a few 6-man "lieutenant lockers." On the small-deck LPD, we had 6-mans, but they were HUGE!

Thanks to the new ESG concept and all the superfulous staffers that come with that whole lash up gone are the days of 3 in a four man for senior captains and majs and ltcols now all get roomates unless they are mse commanders. Makes teh wardroom a bit crowded too. On a positive note most of us now find ourselves living in a trailer in Bagdad vice the boat.

That's not a bad stateroom at all. My first cruise was spent in a 6 man stateroom with very poor a/c during the summer months of the Gulf. I would still take it over any tent city.

Tent city has come a long way recently and the best part is no @#$%$ $^&* @#$^%^ whisltes!!!! I dont think I hate anyhintg more than the whisltes and ours on the Pelilieu were the worst of any whip I have been on "it was tradition" I found that funny since we had a female captain who clung ot silly outdated tradition. I found it hard to justify failing my hearing test on my flight physical (had to wear ear plugs for 24 hours then retest) just for her silly tradition when in rality if she truly believed in outdated tradition she wouldnt even be the Captain.

Holy crap, a Mah-reeen complaining about silly outdated traditions? Used your Mameluke in combat a lot lately? Seriously, though, I hear you on the whistles and bells. Disabling the 1MC speaker in your stateroom should be the second thing you do after dropping off your bags.
