Pay?

Hey guys, anyone not get paid on the first? A BDCPer at my school and I didn't get paid on the first, and our Chief has no idea why.

From what I know, DFAS is currently experiencing some sort of computer malfunction with some of their records. It's supposed to be fixed in time for the next pay date, but I don't know for sure. I was supposed to have a new pay rank this past pay date, but it kicked back my original one. But, I'm just sorry for you guys not getting anything.

Don't worry though...whatever wasn't paid to you will be put into the next pay transaction. You won't lose anything, just two weeks of cutting it short...which I know exactly how that feels.

Also, you might want to contact your bank to make sure it wasn't an error in their system. I'm pretty sure it was DFAS, but you could check your bank as well. And, make sure you contact DFAS and report your problem to them... http://www.dfas.mil

Tell me about it. Apparently PSD didn't fill out some paperwork so I got canned after 6 months.

How often do we (BDCP's) get promoted. I know that once we get to OCS we automatically get E-5 pay. But how do we get E-4 or E-5 before OCS without getting any body in the program???

I think that as a Big Dinner Chicken Pumper you must get someone in the program to make rank. At the very least you are required to give a referral to your recruiter. Vette, what do you mean you got canned?

There are two ways to get a promotion before gradution - two semesters of Dean's List or recruiting someone else. I'm not really familiar with the specifics of either. Both of them are worth one and only one promotion (i.e. getting 6 people in will still only give you one pay grade).

For the past three semesters I managed to get a 4.0 GPA => Honors and Dean's list. I hope I can get the extra $$$

Apparently PSD didn't file my pay paperwork, so DFAS paid me for 6 months and then assumed I seperated from service. All is well now, and I am back in the system.

As for being canned... we had a guy from my office just get canned for not keeping his grades up... And that was for his graduating semester. I was also told by my PO that even though we have a clause that says if we seperate we go in enlisted, they wont hold us to that, apparently it is demoralizing to the ranks.

It only starts counting after you excepted, I got accepted right before finals of spring, so I have 1 noche of that.
