I recently got an email with an order here in Hawaii for military members (P3 Community), for a custom Para USA Nite-TAC .45... One pistol, five mags for $725. Anyone know about them, is this a good deal? I honestly have been waiting on purchasing a Sig 226, it is the one I use most frequently at work.

Anyways, here is the link to the website, and I attached the fliers I recieved.

Thoughts?

John

I have a similar SA Hi-Cap 1911. I like it. Couple buddies have Para's and like them.

It conveniently fits in the same holster as the SIG.

When you get to FL, you can have the full capacity 14 round mags it was designed for.

$725 seems good to me, might be able to do better, but can't think of where.

Oh, if you have small hands, you might not like it. It is a wide grip. I take a sizee 14-15 glove, so I love it.

I'm unfamiliar with the manufacturer.

Sorry.

Same folks as Para Ordnance just the US Side of that Canadian Company. Been around quite a while and have a decent rep from my end.

Can you imagine anything more depressing than being a Canadian Handgun Manufacturer? Talk about limiting your market.

You can probably find a lot of info and experience w/ Para products here as well. The GlockTalk forum also has a wealth of knowledge...and opinions. Echoing what Bates said, I'm sure the grip on it is very large, so big hands would help.

The P226 is also a quality piece, my dad has been very pleased with his.

Hey all, I appreciate the feedback. I don't think the size will be a factor. :D

I like both my Para's. Have had no issues with either. Good manufacturer warranty as well.

Wow. That's like the Mini-Me of 1911s. Certainly much smaller than a full size SIG . . .

If you do end up getting a SIG, do not for the love of all that is holy buy new. Look for ones in the gun shop with a red band around the grip; they're Certified Pre-Owned. Usually police turn-ins. Some were duty pieces and have a little honest holster wear, but every once in awhile you find an armory queen that's an absolute steal. That's how I got my 229.

^^^^I second that.

I just scooped up a P220 that had been traded in by a retiring police officer. Shipped back to Sig and 'red banded'. I got the gun, 2 mags, the plastic box, manual, and even the sticker for $350 less than a new one, out the door.

I've never shot a Para, but I can't say enough good things about Sig.

That can't be good for CRM.

I heard the P-3 community ate their young. I didn't know they shot at them!!

You said you use it at work? Do you carry it flying or in what capacity?
