Jack Bauer uses his PDA to save the world every week. That alone says something about their usefulness.

I use it to write down all headings, altitudes, frequiences, and altimeter settings.

Seems time consuming to write all this down...especially on a PDA...shorthand on a kneeboard card works well enough...

Awesome replies guys, and thanks for the input. Standard pencil and paper seems to be reliable enough for an SNA. On the gouge factory I would never think to look at gouge during the flight. I was thinking of just downloading a small word doc for quick scanning of important info before a hop, not substitutuing hard studying ahead of time though, instead of looking through all the paper (scrollable screen) that might comprise a gouge sheet. Not planning on using as crutch during a flihgt, with my head-down in the cockpit the whole time..lol. Figured less paper taking up space in the nav bag and its portability would be a highlight. A jokes aside, bottom line is that I have not been there yet so I'll just take everything in stride. However if there is an advantage out there that is worth while and has a objective purpose I'd seriously consider it. I haven't heard any concrete evidence of that, worth spending about $300.00 on at least. Thanks again for all your responses.
