I'd definitely agree as well to just stick it out for the last two weeks. The atmosphere so far in week four has been great and the technical training is fun as well. It will be a great feeling to graduate with my classmates next week. It would be weird coming into these last two weeks with people you haven't gone through the rougher times with.

We took an Uber on Saturday to the base. There is a taxi service that can drive onto base but I can't remember the name of it. You can check into King Hall starting at 1800 on Saturday. You need to fend for yourself for dinner, I'd advise getting food before you come here. You'll check in on the quarterdeck and then go up to your room to unpack. The rest of the evening is yours to meet the rest of your class and sign up for any collateral duty you might want. There will be a sign in sheet with descriptions of the jobs there as well. Training starts at 1300 on Sunday so you could hypothetically stay in a hotel Saturday night before you check in on Sunday.
Dumb question maybe, but if you Uber to base, how did you get from base to King Hall?

Is an Uber the most common method of transportation from the airport? I noticed that the website talks about a cab company but also said not all of them are allowed to drive on base.

You can ask the cabbie at the airport if they can get on base. When I was going through, the cab dropped us off right in front of King Hall.

I believe some (but not all) Uber drivers are able to go on base. Orange Cab in Newport is probably the most popular offering to actually come on base proper.

I got my first LES that covers part of ODS and it has a line item for BAH. I have no dependents. It appears to prorated amount for full BAH (as opposed to BAH special). I'm assuming I shouldn't have gotten this and the Navy will come take it back at some point?

I'm replying because I'd like to know the answer to this as well.

From my assumption, I would say that BAH (single rate) would show up for pay purposes. NROWS shows allocations as to the allowances you were approved for. Ultimately, it should be deducted from your net pay because you are staying at King Hall. Waiting to see what someone else says about this.

At ODS currently if there are any questions...
ODS Gouge most important things to remember? Just curious. I've focused more on the General orders than other gouge. Also, is the track suit authorized. I purchased both jogger and track but have been getting conflicting information on what can be worn.
