Just as an FYI, the SPECOPS designator had a name change to EOD a year or so ago. The change reflects the core focus for those in the community. There are a few straight diving/salvage billets out there but they're DH jobs, and they're few and far between. The pipeline has changed a little over the last few years as well and no longer includes BDO and Salvage in the initial trianing pipeline. The mine warfare focus as a JO has also been cut out, other than the EOD side of it, since SWO qualification and MCM/MHC tours are no longer part of the pipeline.
For the OP, there are jobs in EOD that you won't be able to take due to your gender and current DoD policies, but there are a ton of great jobs that it will have no bearing on. If you have any specific questions, feel free to shoot me a PM.
