nomex jacket reissue

I wish. If they are the ones Im thinking of, they are the insulated winter gloves. AF got them. We didn't, the wing probably spent to much money on the five 50in flat screens we had in our flight room so there was likely no more money left for gloves like that. it would have been nice to have when trying to preflight in January when the air temp was 10 degrees with a 30 knot wind blowing down the ramp.

i don't think we are talking about the same ones. the "new" nomex flight gloves look like green ones with the light green leather palms/fingers, except instead of the light green leather its this ribbed, black, grip material. we got to try them on in API and you could feel a huge dexterity difference.

i know its kinda stupid to get excited about, but I get excited over apps on the iPhone like iFart.

I was the first to hook them up with our patch, though...

Ding Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner.

Patches are worth their weight in gold if you need to get something done. Civilian workers, FBOs, etc. love patches. I don't leave home without an extra patch or two for "just in case."

At Camp Arifjan, we bought all of our ALQ-144 maintenance from the Army with patches, coins, and T-shirts.

If it is the same Pensacola lady, she always gives you a size too big. I went back to try and fix the same problem, but found out that they don't exchange the never worn items. Yes, even though my jacket was never worn with the tag still on it, she exchanged it for something off of the rack of the attrite returns only out of "kindness".

Yeah same thing here, although oddly enough I ended up with bags that are way too short in the groin area and too short at the ankles. Looks funny, and I can't really raise my arms comfortably......need to exchange them

thanks for the advice everyone. I went to supply, and while I didn't have any patches, I gave the guy an old unit command coin I had.

Worked like a charm. Got a brand new nomex LARGE jacket, helmet bag, leather gloves, and bunch of other stuff I didn't ask for.

He even said I could get a winter flyers jacket if I wanted to comeback. I was so excited about the new gear I don't even remember what I said to that. I'm pretty sure I just have to go tell Steve I wasn't issued one at API (which I wasn't) and they give it to you.

Btw, the air force supply office continues the tradition of AF having really nice things. In Pensacola, we were crammed into the warehouse and merely eyeballed for sizing. Any sort of objection was met with, "Don't worry your going to gain weight."

At Vance supply is a large fitting room like you would find at Kohl's or Macy's. I had my own chair with ESPN magazines and offered something to drink. I was able to try on whatever from the various racks they had (like a Men's Warehouse). I then sipped my water as the stuff was brought from the back. I gave them all 5's on the customer satisfaction survery.
