Some you go getters.. Why is NKO so difficult to get on? Everytime I go, I have to create a new password that has snowballs chance in hell of me remembering.. What a gigantic pain in my @SS! BOL is easier than NKO.. Crap.. When I was drilling, it was easier to get on than this POS?

And what is up with changing the point system come October.. How is a quitter like me suppose to get my 50 for a good year??

VENTING! What a pain!!! :icon_rage

You mean you don't have an assortment of passwords with two capital letters, two lower case letters, two special characters, and two numbers, readily available?? You wouldn't want someone to get access to the human trafficking module. :)

Nope!

From work, banking, morgages, webboards, I can't keep track of it all!

I would write it down but wife always ends up accidently throwing it away and if I hid it, I would forget where.. One must understand, just how lazy I am! It is a pain but secure, I am sure! :icon_rage

My old password was Pa1n1ntheA$$. I figured it was appropriate given the circumstances and easy to remember.

The fact that logging on to NKO (or any Navy site) isn't just a matter of using your CAC card and PIN is atrocious.

Boom Boom,

What is changing for IRR? I'm done (retired three weeks ago) but have lots of boys in the "network." Haven't heard about a change.

Concur - NKO login sucks. I write password on the top part of a sticky, cut off the rest of the sticky and attach to my computer screen edge. Stays pretty good.

Basically instead of 1 hour per point, it is 3 hours minumim.. So from what I am told it is 3 hours work (clicking) for one point... No more drunken 1 pointer courses for me...

They took my CAC and gave me the old green when I switched from SELRES to IRR.. Gets some funny looks at the NEX; but at least it is 'INDEF'

On the other hand, why do I need to log in w/ my CAC card to get my weather? Are we really going to lose the war if al Qaida gets our forecasts?

The CAC card is one thing..

THE DAMNED FACT THAT FWB NEEDS A PASSWORD THAT IS MORE COMPLEX THAN ACCEPTABLE SECURE NETWORK PASSWORDS IS UN-FUNKING ACCEPTABLE.

That, and you have to change it every 90 days.

The weather shop is so damn slow, that I used to send in my DD-175-1 request from home, and maybe by the time I got to the squadron, read the ADB, did the TOLD card, and took a piss, it might be ready.

But I can't do that anymore... :icon_rage:icon_rage:icon_rage

That and the fact that NKO is one of the most unoganized website ever. It seems like every page has like a billion links on it and you can never really find what you need. The search function is a joke. I wish the Navy would just copy AKO's layout/functions or Marine Online, both websites are great tools.

I'd be willing to bet the recent proliferation of "strong" password requirements is someone's fitrep bullet over at NCTAMS.

So true, what gets me is that there are ancillary links on a page that link to THE SAME PAGE YOU ARE ON!!! I don't need five links to get to navy e-learning but they are there... and forget about trying to open a course in firefox... oh no can't have that:icon_rage

Word on the street has it that shortly, if you don't get your request in at least 3 hours prior to your flight, "there is no guarantee that it will be serviced in time"... Or something to that effect.

Maybe my faith in technology is misplaced, but I bet requests could be serviced in about 3 seconds if we wanted to... Then again, I'm just your average unfrozen caveman intelligence officer who occasionally files for weather, so what do I know? :icon_tong

What we've heard here, as well. But don't get me started on the uselessness of Navy weather nowadays.

NKO guest account

I need to get on the NKO site for the OCS courses. I created a guest account and it has now been 'pending activation' for a week. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get an NKO Guest account activated?

Also, to those who have done the OCS NKO work, how long does it take to complete al the courses and get a certificate? Days? Weeks?
