Next Pilot/NFO Rolling Board will be held 2 Dec 2015

I was pro rec Y for NFO on the Dec 2015 board. I've been bugging my OR about my OCS date because it would be nice to know in advance when I'm leaving so I can get some things taken care of before I leave. He told me that my processor is on vacation until Jan 11... This is my first time hearing about a processor. Can someone help explain to me how this FINSEL thing is getting sent to us? I read that it's only emailed to the OR but he said I should get something in the mail after a month.. Nothing yet.

My OR recieved mine via email then called me. I knew they were just waiting to go through the background check process. The processor I believe is the OR's boss. Once he gets back it should take a week to get your background taken care of if its anything like mine. Also there is the Feb14 OCS date and after that is March17 I believe. Good luck

The Processor is an enlisted specialist who handles the submission of the paperwork itself and ensures completion. Mine was the one who called all of my employers in NASIS and double checked my forms before submission, I hadn't completed a few boxes. From what I understand from my OR and reading these threads, nothing actually is mailed to you. If I understand correctly, the FINSEL gets uploaded where your OR can see it.

Your processor will email you a copy of your FINSEL. Nothing gets mailed to you. And your processor is actually a big part of you application they read and take care of all your paper work to ensure nothing I missing. You'd be surprised how much they know bout you.

Processors are mostly civilian, depending on the size of the NRD they can have 2 or more, we had an enlisted processor 2 different times, once was a enlisted who didn't transfer due to medical, another was a recruiter who essentially failed at recruiting.

I believe my background check is open but not yet completed. They had someone come to my work and interviewed my boss for an hour. Hopefully my OR gets it soon !

Huh, good to know. Mine is definitely enlisted, I just assumed they all were. He's been pretty good to me so far.

Processor = Who processes all the paperwork your OR supplies him with, makes sure all the documents are there and correctly filled out, etc.

Last week I was told by my processor that my finsel letter is with the division director waiting for a signature before it will come. It sounds as if that is the last thing needed before I will get it. Since others are getting their finsels now, I assume that means it will be coming sometime in the near future (hopefully this week, fingers crossed)? Can anyone confirm or correct me if I am wrong?

There are so many variables that could affect when it arrives just be happy it is in the "waiting on signature status" it could be there for a few days or a few months.

I signed the paperwork on December 10th. My processor informed me that the investigation was opened and that he generated a memo to whomever deals with assigning class dates in Millington on December 21st.
