It was open 2 months ago.

Coddington's has mediocre beer. Stay away from the odd fruity beers they have. Their pizza is good, but otherwise was not impressed with the rest of their menu.

The Landings down on Bowen's Wharf is good waterfront dining.
Newport Blues Cafe has good food and live music. Down on Thames as well just down from Brick Alley.
Brick Alley is always good but usually crowded.
Christies is $$$.
Flo's out on First Beach is a great local fish place but not open in the winter most days.

Just got back from the Red Parrot..... good burger!.. I'm under the impression that this is definately the off season in Newport. I've already been told by a few locals to check out Mama Leone's and Brick Alley. I'm staying down the street from Christies, and it dosen't really look like a cougar lair.

hmm...
For breakfast that little diner right out front of the base next to the shell station is pretty cheap and good food.
