How about finding a way to let new members register, but have to wait a few weeks or so until a post is allowed to be made?? It would make most of the new people read around the site for a while before asking questions and not want to be "that guy". Maybe every thread could be "locked" to the new person for a bit of time before posting could happen.

It hasn't seemed to be as much of a problem of late.

It's not like we're all too busy here on this internet message board discussing important topics to answer somebody's question.

By the way, cool commercial. Short and to the point.

You know, you can read the forum without being a member... so that really doesn't accomplish anything.

I actually like the new Army and Navy commercials. They're trendy, which seems wrong at first, but they DO get your attention, which means they get other peoples' attention. I remember the first time I heard Godsmack on a Navy commercial, I thought "well, looks like they hired an advertising company with brains". The old Army of One commercials sucked, but the newer ones, like the sniper team in Afghanistan, that stuff is hot.

Not that its particularly sexy or glamorous but it is described in much detail under the Global Navy Development along with the Seabee's, healthcare, Blue Angels, Diver and Crypto communities. Even such "non-sexy" stuff as preventing drug trafficking, maritime security operations, and humanitarian relief is explained about their role. Though I am not a SWO or desire to be one it's not as if the Navy is hiding the fact that we have ships nor what we do with them.

And on another note I just found this on there....
Patrol Squadron 16 (VP 16) “War Eagles” from Jacksonville, Florida, made a dramatic impact in the War on Drugs by recovering more than 41 tons of cocaine.

In just over a month, VP–16’s drug busts equated to a record–setting street value of more than $2 billion!
............probably old news to everyone else. Bravo Zulu.
