First I guess I should start off with some background information. I am a senior in professional aviation at Louisiana Tech. I will be graduating this spring with a commercial certificate a CFI and hopefully a CFII and my multi engine.
This idea of becoming a Marine pilot was presented to me recentaly. When an OCS selection officer came and talked to us about flight contracts. (please excuse any ignorance on my part regarding the correct technical terms) since then all I have been able to think about becoming a marine officer and a marine pilot. I have already started training for the PT requirements and can meet and exceed them all with the exception of the 3 mile run. But that is just a matter of time.
I guess the real questions I have are what are my chances of being accepted taking into account current events, things I should start studying to prepare myself for the experience, various opinions on people's experience flying for the marines and going through the process of getting there, and any other information you think I should know and consider.
I would greatly appreciate any and all feedback. Just ask for any other information needed about myself and situation to help in providing feedback.
Thank you for your time and Happy Holidays,
Jon Berryhill
